    This was a very nice & honest review of this movie. My wife and I saw it Saturday evening and we were both blown away. I know that many(myself included) were originally hoping for a more detailed showing of the beginning of this apocalypse but this wasn’t that. This was just a condensed version of what we’ve already seen but it was in a setting that was so much more intense and tense and impossible therefore making it that much more nerve racking and edgy. I loved it. The story within the story was done so well and really meant so much to me. Both actors were dynamite and i too can’t wait to see Quinn as Johnny Storm. He is a very very good actor and Lupita is just amazing. I need to check out some of her other movies. I hadn’t seen the one you mentioned. Saw US and she’s great. Anyway, not sure why so many can’t redirect themselves and enjoy a movie for what it is (assuming that movie is actually good which this one is) but these days everyone seems to have stepped up the negative criticism of movies or shows if they aren’t exactly how they want them to be. This one is one of the best I’ve seen all year, definitely will watch again a couple times when it releases on streaming. Was good to see the theater so packed too. Hoping the take was better than hoped gor

    The way those monsters coming in the movie gave me the alien isolation video game play vibes where you have to stay and move quiet the whole time. Any noise you make, they are on top of you like white on rice. Very solid movie review and how are you doing today?

    Thanks for this great recap. You explained well how the twin thought her sister was the one Emma Stone was looking for. I somehow missed it that back when they were young she should have died by diving into the pool and her sister touched her and brought her back to life. But how did the twin even know Emma was looking for someone? I must have missed that.

      I think a lot of details in the last segment will be found on rewatch especially since they don’t really tell you who or why they are looking for this person until later on. Knowing their goals on rewatch would probably clear that up!

    Sol encountered Qimir at the shop. If the Jedi killed the witches it was by accident. Maybe one of them did the power of many thing and maybe they all die if you kill one. 🤷‍♂

    • @mkhud50n
      @mkhud50n 6 днів тому

      Ki-Adi-Mundi is there specifically to show that the Jedi were arrogant for a long time. And they can also just blame it on him instead of blaming the entire Jedi order. Probably why they "retconned" his age.

    • @TheUnprofessionalReviewer
      @TheUnprofessionalReviewer 6 днів тому

      I’ve heard some people suggest that maybe Koril controlled the mind of Torbin or Kelnacca to kill the witches to frame them. It’s definitely a possibility but I would still be curious for her motives in killing her own coven 🤷🏻‍♂️. Would’ve mentioned it in the video but it technically isn’t my theory! Your point here could also be valid too!

    • @mkhud50n
      @mkhud50n 6 днів тому

      @@TheUnprofessionalReviewer there was definitely a schism between the witches and they didn’t all see the Thread the same way. Anisaya is their Yoda and Koril is their Mace. Koril probably took things into her own hands like Mace did and attacked the Jedi who probably wiped them all out in self defense. It’s like how all of the Jedi were blamed for Mace’s one mistake. Same might apply to the witches. Thread is just the female version of the Force and they aren’t all entirely bad just like the Jedi weren’t.

    Thank you for the review! I liked all three parts, and was surprised to hear that people think the last part was the weakest. I was pleasantly surprised by the dark humor and the way the film was able to extract an audible reaction out of the audience during its most shocking moments. Even though I did not like the messaging and delivery in Poor Things I thought Kinds of Kindness was brilliant and is definitely in my top movies of 2024!

    Certain audience members laughing at Owen’s breakdown sounds like it would be heartbreaking, but in a strange way it almost enhances the movie, turning them into unwitting participants. Like… They are the manager, the partygoers, his Dad. They’re proving the movie right, in a sense.

    As somebody that can get very anxious, but also tries to be optimistic, seeing Joy and Anxiety initially struggle to cooperate but eventually understanding each other better resonated with me a lot. Also I found it very satisfying to see Joy let out steam through her rant, the look on her face before she unloads was excellent

    I saw this movie and am also a cis-gendered man, but also connected with it on a personal level in other ways. To me the relevant part of the film is definitely the feeling I get when trying to live up to norms I don't understand or even agree with, where i sometimes end up playing a character to hide who I am and how i feel. I'm so glad art like this exists, that reminds me that maybe I'm not alone, and that there are ways to engage in conversations that can express these feelings in a constructive way. One of the best films I've seen in years.

  • @hdshjs

    It would be cool if they utilize the abilities of watchers more, as you said. And yeah, the movie lacked seriousness and subtlety. It was bit heavy with shoving the reveals and conclusions up the viewer's throats lol. I felt like I watched a story for kids. But there were some cool ideas. I think it's a wasted potential overall.

    Hello, good job, keep it up. Your way of narrating is smooth. I liked your comments and analysis a lot. Change the name of your channel to something more uplifting. Your way of speaking is professional, why would you call yourself that.

      I love this comment haha. Thanks for the compliment but I like the irony in saying unprofessional while presenting myself as the opposite. But beyond that I don’t think anyone could be considered a “professional” when it comes to film. I see myself as a student of film and I don’t want to pretend that I know better than the actual filmmakers who work tirelessly to make their art. Even if I end up working in the industry I don’t think that will change! Always learning and growing as a filmmaker!

    They ruined the show by redefining the force. Star wars isn't the real world. The Canon is set in stone. The retconned the force. You don't know what you are on about. Plus the whole lesbian witch coven grooming children is a problem for most normal people

    • @TheUnprofessionalReviewer
      @TheUnprofessionalReviewer 20 днів тому

      Easy buddy, they didn’t retcon the force (especially considering every other star war still exists after this). It’s the same way other religions exist in our real world. Just another perspective. And if you can’t accept another persons perspective, than you my friend must be a very boring person living in a very tiny little world. Also a groomer wouldn’t let their child seek another religion/perspective outside their own… kinda the opposite of grooming And happy pride month! Have a wonderful day! (in proximus caesar’s voice)

    This movie is easily one of my favorites of the year. I found the allegory so perfect in execution that I was left speechless. The segment where Owen is walking down the street and you get a bird's eye view of a simple slogan, "It's never too late," made me cry intensely after thinking about it once I got home. Like as a trans woman who started socially and medically transitioning at 25, I can say that it truly is never too late. This is the happiest life has ever allowed me to be, and that's because I decided to live life as the person I knew I always was. Was it terrifying? Of course! I was so scared about how family and friends would react, but I had to do it because I knew that I could not live like how I was - it would've killed me eventually. The ending of the film and the regrets that continue to mount in Owen's life are what broke me. Also, Luna Jucie looks like hrt pills that didn't dissolve all the way. Excellent review!

    It's a very interesting movie with a cool concept but the ending it just soooo terrible. It's like you can feel the creators deliberately avoiding the obvious conclusion. No final confrontation with the final girl and her companion(s). Instead we get this extended drive scene where the movie explains its themes which didn't need explaining. And then it feels like the ending wants you to suspect the driver might be a killer like Pamela Voorhees but nope. That's too obvious, I guess. So the ending breaks its rule by following a POV that aint Johnny and the killer just vanishes with no explanation. Huh. Wot.

There's roughly 25-30 minutes that's super entertaining but the rest is a tedious watch. 90 minutes felt much, much longer. It'd be better off if it were cut down to 60 minutes or even less
